Alki - Dark Brown Museum Calf

Our Alki Chelsea Boot was made with the intention of ensuring sleek lines and serving as something that can be worn casual or dressed up, with a slender last and trim-cut silhouette. We were never a fan of the chunky Chelsea boot as dress shoe snobs, we see that all styles can be refined for a more elegant version which is what we did with our Alki.

We made our Alki Chelsea boot with a Wholecut pattern. This is very rare in the industry, especially at this price-point and ensures the ultimate comfort and quality.

The Dark Brown calf version, made with a Double City-Rubber Sole is the perfect hard-wearing elegant boot. The sleekness of the museum calf allows you to dress sharp with them but at the same time being able to withstand the harsh weather that A/W can bring with the super durable double city rubber sole. The best of all worlds!

The NGT is our smart-round last. Its slender silhouette and elongated toe box result in a classic, elegant style.

The NGT is one our more refined fitting lasts, and is therefore more suited for narrow to medium width feet:

      • Narrower/shallower forefoot
      • Less voluminous (but not “low”) instep
      • Hugging arch area
      • Elongated shape
      • Not good for wide feet
      • Fits more generously on boots than on shoes

J.FitzPatrick shoes have a broad set of fit options, from true to size, on the slim side to more wide. It will be important to make sure you read about the specific last that you are looking to purchase.

One thing to note across the board is that our loafers have been cut on the snug side, compared to the rest of the models. We did this so that you do not need to 'size down' when going for a loafer, rather recommending you stick to your oxford size (**read exception below)

Here are a few general rules

      • Our insteps would be considered generous
      • All shoes with 6 eyelets will be even more generous in the instep
      • Any model in full suede will feel more generous to its leather counterpart
      • The boots have a forgiving instep in order for you to put them on easily
      • Any monkstrap made on the MGF or LPB will feel more generous to its oxford counterpart
      • If you wear your oxfords very snug, then size up for your loafers. However, for most we recommend taking the same size as your oxfords

I’ve never met a nicer Chelsea boot!

I had been eyeing the beautiful Alki model for years, hooked by its sleek design and rare wholecut pattern, so it inspired my first MTO purchase from J. Fitzpatrick. I ordered mine in shaded merlot crust calf on the LPB last, with metal toe taps. Here’s a true story that shows just how much Justin cares about quality and customer satisfaction: when my boots reached him from the factory, he noticed a tiny blemish on one of them. Even though I’m sure that 99% of buyers wouldn’t even have detected this, Justin judged that it was not up to his standards, so he had the factory make a completely new replacement! I fell in love with the boots when they arrived—they fit like a glove and look truly elegant. The wholecut pattern avoids the rather untidy side seam found in almost all other non-bespoke Chelsea boots on the market. Gaziano & Girling’s Burnham model is a notable exception, but this costs nearly five times as much as the Alki, and even without considering price I find the proportions of the Alki more appealing.
