Our collaboration with NYC-based menswear and lifestyle consultant Martel B. François enters its second season, with new styles focusing on Spring and Summer wear. The flagship piece this season is our first-ever genuine python leather shoe: We started with our iconic butterfly loafer - a design created in Britain and long gaining international popularity - and then we let the naturally-occurring black, grey, and white python skin do the talking.
The result is a striking shoe unlike any we've seen before: A true statement piece, around which you form the rest of your outfit. Any time you want all eyes on you, wear these with pretty much anything else.
This genuine python leather butterfly loafer is our first group-made-to-order (GMTO) style designed in collaboration with Monsieur François, and is therefore only available to clients who reserve a pair. There will be no "standing stock" of this style: Orders will remain open through May 8th, after which all orders are final and non-refundable. Production time is estimated at 4 months, so you can expect your pair in late summer.
The total price of this loafer is $795: For your convenience, we are accepting 50% deposit payments of $397.50, with the remaining $397.50 plus any shipping fees due upon completion of your pair. All python pairs ship free to the continental US; please see here for our international shipping rates.
Please note that python leather has a naturally occurring look and no two pairs will be the same in how the skin looks, nor will left to right be identical. The factory does its best to cut it in a manner that flows with the pattern.
Please also note that exotic leathers go through rigorous checks when crossing international borders. This can delay arrival times. Our factory has promised a quicker production to ensure that this stays within the standard ~4 months timeframe. But we cannot guarantee anything once in the hands of the government agencies checking the leather for its proper documentation.

J.FitzPatrick shoes have a broad set of fit options, from true to size, on the slim side to more wide. It will be important to make sure you read about the specific last that you are looking to purchase.
One thing to note across the board is that our loafers have been cut on the snug side, compared to the rest of the models. We did this so that you do not need to 'size down' when going for a loafer, rather recommending you stick to your oxford size (**read exception below)
Here are a few general rules
- Our insteps would be considered generous
- All shoes with 6 eyelets will be even more generous in the instep
- Any model in full suede will feel more generous to its leather counterpart
- The boots have a forgiving instep in order for you to put them on easily
- Any monkstrap made on the MGF or LPB will feel more generous to its oxford counterpart
- If you wear your oxfords very snug, then size up for your loafers. However, for most we recommend taking the same size as your oxfords
