Hawthorne - Black Calf

When I first conceived of the Hawthorne, I was living in London, and it struck me that the classic Butterfly loafer design was only available in two shops, both of which were located in London. This unique style was absent from the rest of the world, which I found a great pity as I was particularly fond of it. The original British design featured brogueing details along the vamp and the strap. My aim with the Hawthorne was to refine this by removing the brogueing and introducing a hand-stitched apron, creating a sleeker aesthetic.

My intention behind the Hawthorne was to present an alternative to the more commonly found tassel and penny loafers. It's been incredibly rewarding to see the Hawthorne become one of our best-selling styles and a quintessential J.FitzPatrick shoe. Furthermore, since we've introduced our version of the butterfly loafer to a wider global market, it's now a design you can see offered by numerous other brands. This broader availability is something I'm proud of, as it reflects J.FitzPatrick's initial vision of bringing something distinctive to the market.
