You're right, the classic cap toe oxford is a tough shoe to reinvent. So instead of trying to completely overhaul it, I focused on enhancing our version with subtle yet impactful details. You might not even notice them until I point them out!

One key addition was a distinct heel counter design. Many traditional cap toe oxfords, particularly those from the UK, where we started, typically feature just the cap and quarter lines with a plain heel counter, much like our Puget model. Personally, I always felt that the heel area could be more integrated into the overall design.

Adding a heel counter created a more seamless flow to the shoe's aesthetic. To further emphasize this design element, I incorporated three rows of stitching along all of the seams. While most shoes use just one or two rows with the intention of being understated, I wanted to take a different approach. That third line of stitching really makes the different parts of the pattern pop.

It's these deliberate details that I believe have contributed to the Magnolia becoming our best-selling model.
