Note from the founder

This was the design dilemma I faced: how could I create a truly unique wholecut? Simply adding brogueing didn't feel innovative enough. I wanted to do something that had never been done before.

While a brogued wing cap and heel counter were existing elements, the idea of connecting them struck me as novel. I then considered how to achieve this connection, and the image of a 'bouncy ball' came to mind. This perfectly captured the visual effect I was aiming for.

This 'bouncy-ball' effect seamlessly links the brogued wing cap to the heel counter, resulting in a fluid and distinctive design. This connection offers a look that was entirely unique in the history of shoemaking up to that point. This design truly embodies the 'Only at J.FitzPatrick' ethos.

"Pseudo Wingtip" Wholecut Oxford

Wholecut oxfords are identified by their construction from a single piece of leather, and their closed-lace pattern. These two features work together to create an oxford that is both sleek and comfortable, with the wholecut pattern ensuring that each shoe easily "molds" to your foot as you wear it. The Tony is a pseudo-wingtip: Brogued detailing is used to imitate the visual effect of a wingtip design, without compromising the underlying wholecut construction.

LPB Last

The LPB is our soft chisel last. It is a softened variant of the classic MGF chisel last, with the smoother lines of LPB offering a more conservative and versatile profile.
The LPB is a generous fitting last, making it a good choice for those with broad feet.

-Labeled as UK 'E' width (US 'D' equivalent). However, being generous it is closer to a US D/E fit, falling between the two.

Leather Sole (Closed Channel)

Single leather soles are our most handsome sole option. A subtle profile combines with tastefully pitched heels, beveled waists, and closed-channel stitching to ensure an elegant look, while seven brass nails in the toe improve longevity.

size guidance

The Tony II, on the LPB Last, is a generous and elongated fitting oxford. If you wear slender lasts, you will wish to size down. If you wear more generous fitting lasts, often found in Italian brands or on other chisel lasts, stick with your typical size. If you are a standard fit, it will be up to you to decide if you prefer a little more room or a snugger fit. If more room, stick to the same size, if more snug, size down.

Most people stick to their standard size.
